Corpus Callosum
Segmentation and Analysis

A project on segmenting and analysing the Corpus Callosum
for relating features and identifying biomarkers.

About us

CorpCal is a team of USC faculty and students.
Together we aim to create a Deep Learning pipeline to automatically segment the Corpus Callosum (CC)
and find out biological associations to the various features of the CC.

Motivation

The CC is the largest set of brain fibers in the brain. It connects the left and right hemispheres. In the middle of the two hemispheres is where the CC is the most compact, and that frame is often used to analyze the shape and density of the CC and it’s connection profile. Features are related to brain development, aging, and may be biomarkers for certain diseases and their progression.
